Access Details and Policy


Our policy is to make access to the site, mill building, tearoom and millshop as easy as possible for everyone. However there are some restrictions, detailed below.

Access Arrangements

The site is accessible by car.

Due to nature of the building there is some restricted access for people with limited mobility:


There is one fully equipped toilet for people with disabilities, and with baby-changing table.


Ground floor (gearing) fully accessible.

Stone floor - only accessible via flight of wooden stairs.

Waterwheels - only accessible via flight of stone steps.

Tearoom and Shop.

All on ground floor but storm-guards and one change of level. Assistance available on request.

Education Room

At the present time the Breadmaking Courses and other activities using the Education Room are only accessible via a flight of wooden stairs.


Currently available in written format in English. No audio-guide or audio-visual guide.


 The Watermill film, available on this website, (click on News and Film tab on main menu), is a great way of seeing round the mill, tearoom and site from the comfort of your armchair using your laptop, PC, or tablet, or phone.
