Welcome to our 2012 Children’s Workshop Programme! Kate and Ana will be taking all the courses.
The courses run from 10am – 12.45pm and are for ages 5yrs +. The cost is £10 per child per morning (except where indicated otherwise) and includes a drink and a biscuit.

SPRING HALF TERM 2012
Tuesday 14th February: Hearts, on a necklace, and another to hang up.
Wednesday 15th February: Make and decorate a bird, maybe one you can see out of the window or an exotic or imaginary bird.
EASTER HOLIDAYS 2012
Tuesday 3rd April: Fabric Hen - make a fat, happy hen using sewing skills.
Wednesday 4th April: Tractortime - collage and card to make a colourful tractor – if you have an empty brightly coloured cereal box bring it along.
Thursday 5th April: Eggstravaganza - dye eggs with onion skins in time for Easter. We will also make some Lemon curd tarts and a nest...to eat !
Tuesday 10th April: Sewn Fabric Picture - choosing your own pieces of fabric to make a real or imaginary spring flower
Wednesday 11th April: Felt Pot - with lots of rubbing to stick the wool fibres together make your many layered pot
Thursday 12th April: Breadmaking - make some bread buns using the flour from the mill, learn about grain and see the mill working.

SUMMER HALF TERM 2012
Thursday 7th June: Pop Up Book - make a pop up book, decorate the cover and then take it home and fill with drawings, stories, plays……
Friday 8th June: Weaving - look at wool and how to spin it, then make a piece of weaving on a frame using lots of different colours and textures in your weaving.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS 2012
Tuesday 24th July: Recycled Necklace - using scraps of material, ribbons, paper and lots of sticking.
Wednesday 25th July: Peg People - make a person from a peg & dress them.
Thursday 26th July: Pies and Tarts - having made pastry cases we will fill them with all sorts of yummy mixtures from the mill garden & our hen’s eggs.
Tuesday 31st July & Wed 1st August: Felt Bag - make a shoulder bag from felt over 2 mornings. £22.50 to allow for wool.
Thursday 2nd August: Wool and Weaving - have a look at wool straight from the sheep’s back – how do you turn it into thread? Then we will weave a tiny blanket
Tuesday 7th August: Imaginary Animals - using your imagination, make a collage of an animal
Wednesday 8th August: Mill Picture - have a look around the mill and then make a picture based on what you have seen

Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th August: Rag Doll - this is a two morning course making a rag doll and dressing it - £20
Thursday 16th August: Biscuit Making - make some different biscuits, flapjacks, some to roll out & dip in Chocolate..

AUTUMN HALF TERM 2012
Tuesday 30th October: Sheep - make a sheep using lots of wool
& felting
Wednesday 31st October: Scarf Making - make a cosy wool scarf to keep you warm in the winter. £15 to allow for wool *

CHRISTMAS COURSES 2012
Saturday 15th December: Christmas Biscuits - we will make some biscuits with holes in to hang on your Christmas Tree (if you don’t eat them first!) Also flapjacks and something chocolaty.
Sunday 16th December: Christmas Decorations - make something to hang on your tree – perhaps your Mum and Dad will keep getting it out year after year… how embarrassing!
