Short Day Courses £55 each These courses run from 10am – 2pm with morning coffee and lunch included. Soupmaking – Wednesday 29th February 2012 Knowing how to make simple, hearty and tasty soups is a great thing as you can always give family and guests steaming bowls of soups and some home-made bread and they should be completely satisfied! Scones, Pastry and Cake Making – Wednesday 21st March 2012 This course is for those who are worried that making scones and pastry with brown flour will be far too tricky, and those who may not have got into cake making using brown flour. Seasonal Salads – Tuesday 19th June 2012 Making salads is very creative. Choosing what ingredients to put together and what dressings to make to go with the salads, and then making them look delicious - it’s all an art ! Scones, Pastry and Cake Making – Wednesday 12th September 2012 This course is for those who are worried that making scones and pastry with brown flour will be far too tricky, and those who may not have got into cake making using brown flour. Jams and Jelly Making – Thursday 11th October 2012 Autumn is the time of year when there is an abundance of fruits for jams and jelly-making, and they do not need to have too much sugar in. We’ll make Crab Apple Jelly, a Fruit Curd, an Apple and Elderberry Flan, and Spiced Pear and Apple. Cake-making – Thursday 8th November 2012 An opportunity to get into cake-making as the days shorten, using brown flour to make a Christmas Cake, a Chocolate Prune Cake, Apple Cake, Gingerbread and a Lemon Cake. Quiche and Savoury Tarts and Pies – Wednesday 14th November 2012 Using a simple shortcrust pastry we will make some very simple tarts and pies with some of the most basic vegetables and wonderful Watermill eggs!
